The Marina at Porto San Giorgio

There are several yachting marinas in the region, but San Giorgio is the closest to Montefiore and one of the biggest and best equipped.
The marina is close to the city centre and the main shopping area, and there is plenty of parking space. You can hire bicycles, scooters and cars nearby. There are restaurants and bars in the marina complex, with high quality local food and even entertainment offered in the evenings during the summer. The views over the marina and the bay are stunning!
The orientation of the entrance to the marina allows safe entry and exit of boats in all weather conditions. The design substantially reduces wave motion and the distance between the piers is wide enough to allow easy manoeuvring on entrance and exit.
The water quality inside the marina is exceptionally high as there are three independent water exchange systems, so the water is completely renewed every 18 hours. The quality of water and other services and facilities have earned it EU Blue Flag status consistently since 1987. There is also a boatyard in the port, which is fully equipped for maintenance and repairs on fibre glass, wood and aluminium boats of all sizes.
The Port of San Benedetto del Tronto
At San Benedetto del Tronto there is another smaller but very well-run and equipped marina, with shops and restaurants close by.
This marina is protected to the north and by the south wharf with three arms, and this is usually quite crowded with fishing boats. A new tourist dock with several mooring piers has recently been added to the south. There are also reserved berths for the sailing club.
Water and electricity is available for all berths and there is a fuel quay. Some yacht repairs are also available.
There are 380 berths, with a maximum length for crafts is 25 metres. The sea bed is 2-4.5 metres, and shelter is generally good, except with strong N or NE winds which create a swell in the harbour.
